Facilitating Engaging Content from Hobbyist Video Creators: An Automated Pipeline for Generating Gaming Highlight Videos

This is a tool designed and written in Python with the intention of helping to speed up the discovery and creation of highlights or “best bits”. Motivation? They are good fun but it can take a while to do due to faffinf about with videos.

Evaluation

In short- the “fully automated” approach rates nearly as good as a human with some experience but without particular skill in video editing under limited time constraints.

The tool substantially speeds up human production of videos (termed “hybrid” production here).
